CANDI BOROBUDUR

*mkck yg sedang membetolkan rambut interframe. HAHA :))

terletak di jawa tengah. mewakili agama buddha mahayana. terbahagi kepada tiga tingkat. setiap tingkat melambangkan satu tahap kehidupan yang diwakili oleh patung stupa dan patung buddha.

di tingkat pertama terdapat ukiran cerita kehidupan Gautama Buddha. tiga tingkat melambangkan tiga tahap kehidupan iaitu, sila, samadhi, dan panna seperti dalam ajaran buddha.

dibina dalam masa 75 tahun. Casparis berpendapar nama Borobudur berasal daripada nama BHUMISAMBARABHUDARA dari batu bersurat (824 M) yang bermaksud "gunung timbunan kebaikan di atas 10 peringkat Bodhisattva".
